Out of this world

This term we have taken part in the RHS 'Rocket Science' growing project; more information can be found by following this link Rocket Science Project .

We predicted that before we had even sown our rocket seeds that the red packet was the one that had travelled to space and back. The seeds made us very curious as to what would happen as they had travelled to space. One thought we had was that the seeds that had been to space would grow at a different angle to those that had not.

When we were planting our seeds the seeds from the blue packet appeared to be larger than the seeds in the red packet. As the seeds started to grow two of us were checking on the seeds and watering them daily, we had to check when they had germinated and when the first true leaves appeared.

The seeds germinated really quickly and the seeds from the red packet appeared to have grown faster than the seeds from the blue packet as we measured them on certain days that we were told. It was really hard to keep the plants well watered, they dried out really quickly.

Our funniest moment has been keeping the seeds watered by using some of trays, Oakley's tray has gone missing and we can't find it!
