On Saturday, about 100 of us from Wicor School took part in Portchester
Gala. Mann Made Drives let us use their lorry, and one of their lovely drivers,
Giles Wright, drove it for us. Bron Kirk worked very hard before, during and
after the Gala organizing the float and costumes.
Our float looked amazing: featuring Hogwarts, mythical
creatures, portraits of deceased cast members, school house badges, owls,
flying car and steam train. Some of the costumes were so effective you really
couldn’t identify the person underneath. There was a lovely community feel to
the event and it was delightful to see Wicor once again at the heart of our community.
Those of us in the
procession made full use of our magic wands, casting spells on the Portchester
residents lining the streets, making sure to pick on as many ex Wicor pupils as possible.
For the third consecutive year, we won 1st prize
for our float.
